Introduction of the Center

Welcome to the website of the Center for Aluminum and advanced Materials Research and International Collaboration, Institute of Light Metals (ILM). The Center was established on the basis of the achievements in materials research in University of Toyama, which has been progressing with the development of metal industry in Toyama. In April 2021, we launched the ILM in collaboration with the Magnesium Research Center, Kumamoto University, and began new activities as a base for light metal research in Japan. Through the development of novel highly functional materials as well as their processing technologies, we will steadily fulfill our responsibilities to global issues such as environmental and energy problems that we are facing.

Philosophy and Objectives

ARC-CAMRIC promotes collaborative research with researchers and engineers from Japan and around the world in the field of materials engineering, especially on aluminum. Our aim is to contribute to local and national industrial development as well as to prepare our graduate students for their future career.
