The first meeting of the Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy Japan was held in 2001 at the Komaba Campus of the University of Tokyo, with the aim of providing opportunities for young scientists, including graduate and undergraduate students, to present their research.

The 26th meeting will be held at the Gofuku Campus of the University of Toyama, Japan. We warmly invite researchers and students from around the world to participate.

The main focus of the symposium is high-resolution molecular spectroscopy, alongside related areas such as:

· Reaction dynamics
· Quantum chemistry
· Atmospheric processes
· New spectroscopic techniques, and related subjects.

In recent years, the symposium has attracted around 100 participants annually. Over the two-day event, invited lectures and approximately 35 contributed papers are presented by both early-career and established researchers.

Although the primary spoken language of the symposium is Japanese, presentation slides (e.g., PowerPoint) and abstracts are requested to be written in English. Presentations given entirely in English are also highly encouraged.
