【Regional Revitalization】
Development of regional economy and globalization of primary industry have caused negative impact such as hollowing employment to regional society. Both local societies in Japan and the Japan Sea Rim have faced with a challenge of sustainable vitalization. Suffering from a shortage of workers and population movement, foreign works in local area concern about their employment and life. And the problem in local area need different way of solution in urban area. We will start thinking about regional revitalization from global and regional viewpoint.

【Peace and Safety】
Under globalization in terms of human mobility, transaction of goods, money flow beyond borders, local societies are faced with culturally and economically international condition. A diversity of local areas by globalization will be a challenge to the cultural ‘Kyousei’ society. In this course, we will consider the basic knowledge of how to live peacefully based on people’s daily life, governance, and social change accompanying the internationalization of companies.

【‘Kyousei’ with Environment】
Modernization and economic growth load local society with high risk to an environment. For example, Toyama prefecture had experienced and conquered ‘Itai-Itai Disease’ through the process of Japanese modernization. Thus, Toyama has environmental research and investigate networks in Northeast Asia and Japan Sea Rim area.
In this course, we are going to consider ‘Kyousei’ and environment based on the experience of local area.

A basic educational course is needed to approach these interdisciplinary courses - regional revitalization, peace and safety,‘ Kyousei’ with environment- we will provide social-natural fusion scientific subject such as ‘scientific philosophy’ and ‘ideology’ which are essential to pursue the new field of ‘Kyousei’ study.
