2025 activity report

The 148^th annual meeting of The Japan Institute of Light Metals
On 16-18, May, We participated in 2025 annual spring (148^th) meeting of JILM. 4 presentations (including 1 doctor’s student and 3 master’s students) were presented, and in-depth discussion took place on the contents of the presentations during the conference.
ICSMA20
On 2-6 June, We participated in 20th ICSMA. 4 presentations (including 2 master’s students) were presented, and in-depth discussion took place on the contents of the presentations during the conference.
ICSMA20　Poster Aword
Master course student, Ms. Sanphiboon Wanlalak awarded the best Poster at 14th Japanese-Polish joint seminar for Micro-Nano Analysis. This seminar was held at he Toyama International Conference Center, 3rd – 6^th Sept., 2024.
The 81st JSM annual meeting
On 9-11 June, We participated 2025 annual meeting (81st) of The Japan Society of Microscopy.2 master’s presentations were presented, and in-depth discussion took place on the contents of the presentations during the conference.

Zou Yaofei was awarded the Excellent Student Presentation Award at ISIJ Hokuriku Shinetsu Branch/ JIM Hokuriku Shinetsu Branch 2025 annual joint meeting.

Outstanding Student Presentation Award at ICPMAT2025
Sanphiboon Wanlalak was awarded the Excellent Student Oral Presentation Award and Yukito Suzuki was awarded the Excellent Student Poster Presentation Award at ICPMAT2025.

On March 4, Dr. Pham Mai Khanh(Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam), Dr. Chaiyasit Banjongprasert(Chiang Mai University, Thailand) and Dr. Calin d Marioara(SINTEF, Norway) visited our university and special lectures was held.

On March 9, Dr. Sharka Mikmekova(Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences) and Mr. Ishikawa(AMETEK, CAMECA) visited and special lecture was held.

On 11-13, March, We participated in 2026 annual spring(178^th) meeting of The Japan Institute of Metals and Materials. It was held on Tokyo Metropolitan University. 5 presentations were presented, and in-depth discussion took place on the contents of the presentations during the conference.

On March 23, we participated special lecture by Dr. Takeshi Saitou and Mr. Satoshi Murakami.
5^th Norwegian-Japanese seminar on aluminum alloys
On March 23, The 5^th Norway-Japan Joint Seminar on Aluminum Alloys was held.
Reiwa 7^th The Japan Institute of Light Metals(JILM) Star of Hope Award
2 students (Sanphiboon Wanlalak、Zou Yaofei) of our laboratory were received the Star of Hope Award in Reiwa 7^th from the Japan Institute of Light Metals.

Laboratory assignment
On 1 April, 7 Bachelor 4th students were assigned. Welcome to Matsuda laboratory.
Entrance Ceremony
The Toyama University entrance ceremony for the 2025 academic year was held on April 8th. Two doctoral students and six master's students were admitted.
A department cherry blossom viewing party
A department cherry blossom viewing party was held on May 19th.
Ball game tournament
On July 12th, an inter-laboratory ball game tournament was held.
Open day of our University
On 2nd August, Open day of University was held.
2025 lab. Trip
On 6-8 Aug., we traveled YKK AP Technology Museum and Myoko Kogen.
Yumedaigaku ～Monozukuri festival～
On 8th, Nov., Yumedaigaku ~Monozukuri festival~ was held.We held event for elementary school students and opened our laboratory.
Professor Mitsuhiro Murayama of Virginia Tech visited our university
On 28 Nov., Professor Mitsuhiro Murayama of Virginia Tech visited our university and gave a lecture to graduate students.

We held Year-end party for 2025.
The departmental social gathering
On February 17, The departmental social gathering was held after the master’s and graduation thesis presentations.
Reiwa 7th degree conferral ceremony
On 24 March, Degree conferral ceremony was held. 15 students were able to graduate and complete from our laboratory.
