Theoretical Physics Group, University of Toyama

The Theoretical Physics Group at the University of Toyama addresses fundamental theoretical questions in particle physics and cosmology. The research activities of our group are focused on

  • particle physics phenomenology;
  • particle cosmology.

The Theoretical Physics Group has now two faculty members ( Prof. Takeshi Kurimoto, and Prof. Mitsuru Kakizaki) and 8 graduate students, and forms part of the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science at the University of Toyama.

The Theoretical Physics Group is located in Toyama City in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. Our group benefits from the geographical vicinity of the Kamioka Observatory, Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, University of Tokyo.

Katsuya Hashino, who received his Ph.D. from the Theoretical Physics Group, became Researcher at Peking University.
April 8, 2019: Sakurai Kodai stays at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
Kodai Sakurai (JSPS Fellow at Osaka University), who received his Ph.D. from the Theoretical Physics Group, (JSPS Fellow) moved to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology under the support of JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship.
March 5, 2019: Shin Suzuki awarded Sasakawa Scientific Research Grant

February 22, 2019: Katsuya Hashino awarded the HPNP2019 Best Poster Award - Honorable Mention

February 1, 2019: Kei Yagyu became Osaka University Assitant Professor
Kei Yagyu, who received his Ph.D. from the Theoretical Physics Group, became Assistant Professor at Osaka University.
April 1, 2018: Mariko Kikuchi became NITKIT Assitant Professor
Mariko Kikuchi, who received her Ph.D. from the Theoretical Physics Group, became Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu College.

Prof. Jisuke Kubo, who retired from Kanazawa University, was appointed as a Visiting Professor.
